YOUR Indianapolis Zoo is a valuable part of our community. For the three months our gates were closed this spring, we heard countless stories about how much you missed visiting the Zoo. A recent survey rated the Indianapolis Zoo as the #1 place children and families couldn’t wait to visit again. We really missed YOU, too!

You can count on us to provide lifelong memories, education and fun. During the shutdown, our team worked hard to bring the Zoo to you by providing online content and other educational opportunities. You counted on us and your Indianapolis Zoo was there.

We hope we can count on you because, simply put, Your Zoo Needs You.

This year is unlike any other in our history. We were closed to visitors for 12 weeks, we are currently limited to only 25 percent of our guest capacity, and we had to cancel Zoobilation – our biggest and most important fundraising event of the year. In response to all this, we’ve adjusted our expenses for the remainder of 2020 and through 2021.

One thing a shutdown, pandemic or any crisis has not and will not change is the extraordinary care our animals receive each day or our mission to protect nature and inspire people to care for our world.

We are extremely grateful for the support we have received during this difficult time. So many of our closest friends have been extremely generous, and we remain deeply thankful. Even with this support, we anticipate that we will spend up to $9 million from our cash reserves by the end of 2020.

Will you help YOUR Zoo today with a donation to the Indianapolis Zoo Recovery Fund?
